About Swishes
Swishes promote and distribute free emergency toiletry packs via NHS hospitals and clinics to patients and their carers.

Created by a mother and daughter team, after reading in May 2018 that a high street retailer based in a hospital was charging £7.99 for a tube of toothpaste, we decided something needed to change and so Swishes was born.
Our packs of essential toiletries are available for those who are taken into emergency care and provides them with basic personal hygiene supplies on the hospital wards. Similarly, family members who are called to unexpectedly stay with their loved ones, after an emergency admission to hospital should not have to pay for the privilege of being able to freshen up. At a time of anxiety and vulnerability, we believe that a little support can be of great importance.

Our aim is to ensure that there is one less thing for you to worry about and for you to concentrate on the day ahead in a more positive manner. Taking a few minutes to refresh is mentally and physically stimulating, which sometimes is the boost you need to help you through the most terrible times.

A Swishes pack can be provided without charge to those who need it by hospital staff. We are funded through sponsorship and donations, both from business or personal funding from members of the community. This allows us to purchase the pouches and contents and make up the packs for delivery direct to the hospital wards. Currently these are costed at £1.00 per pack. The members of our not for profit organisation act in a voluntary capacity at all times and do not receive any personal funding or benefit so for every £1.00 donation, you can help one person in need.
